Christmas Tree “Light Up” Events 2023

As the festive season approaches, cities around Louisville and Oldham County are transforming into winter wonderlands adorned with twinkling lights and enchanting decorations. Christmas is a time when Kentuckiana comes together to celebrate the magic of the season, and one of the most captivating ways they do so is through dazzling light-up events! From vibrant street displays to immersive winter festivals, these colorful spectacles create a warm and festive atmosphere that captures the holiday spirit. There is no shortage of stops on Santa’s list below so put these on your calendar too!

Friday, 11/24
Light Up Charlestown (IN)
To kick off the holidays, Light Up Charlestown takes place at Greenway Park, starting at 5 p.m. Gather for sounds of holiday music, food trucks and the flipping of the light switch at 6 p.m. From that moment forward, the City of Charlestown will glow with lights at Greenway Park, the City Square and the Family Activities Park.

Saturday, 11/25
Light Up Corydon (IN)
Join us from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. for a magical day filled with everything that makes you feel at home for the holidays. It is the perfect time and place to start new traditions with your family and friends. There will live entertainment, a parade, unique shopping opportunities, and of course, the arrival of Santa!

Light Up Jeff & Holiday Lights Parade (IN)
The fun kicks off at 4pm with the North Pole Party on Court Avenue (Spring St-Wall St). There will be rides, games visits with Santa, live entertainment, treats and more! At 6pm, the Holiday Lights Parade makes its way up Spring St (Market St-7th Ave). The public is invited to line the streets and enjoy the show that features floats, unique automobiles and other cool vehicles.

Sunday, 11/26
Light Up Maples Park
At 6:45pm, the countdown to LIGHT UP will begin! Be sure to dress in your festive (warm) outdoor holiday gear and let’s get ready for the HOLIDAYS in Crestwood!

Light Up Jeffersontown
Come and get in the holiday spirit with Light Up Jeffersontown from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Live music, train rides, light refreshments, and a visit from Santa Claus!

Friday, 12/1
Light Up Mt. Washington
The Lions Club Fish Fry begins (inside First Baptist) at 4pm. Food Trucks (Smoke Over Fire, Craig’s Jamerican Tings, Kettle Creations & Rollin Sweets) open at 5:30pm. Santa arrives with the parade at 6:15pm, and there will be more activities are performances until 9pm!

Saturday, 12/2
Light Up Louisville
Light Up Louisville is a free, annual event that will kick off the holiday season in the city! We look forward once again to welcoming Louisville citizens to Downtown to welcome the REAL Santa Claus! The Lots of Lights Parade brings holiday cheer to Jefferson Street, aka Santa Claus Lane, with dozens of brightly lit groups singing and dancing in the street!

Light Up St. Matthews
The annual holiday event features musical entertainment, letters to Santa, pictures with Santa, train rides, ice skating, activities for the kids, and fun for the entire family. Free cookies and hot chocolate are available for everyone to enjoy. No matter the weather, most activities are held under a big tent. The event begins at 3:00 p.m. and concludes at 6:00 p.m. when the switch is thrown and Brown Park “Lights Up” with thousands and thousands of colorful holiday lights.

Light Up LaGrange
At 5:45pm, this year’s Super Star will be announced, who will then flip the switch just before Santa arrives on a fire truck around 6pm. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be taken to the Dahlgren Pioneer Barn on the History Center campus and stay there until 9pm for children to greet and share their Christmas wish list.

Sunday, 12/3
Light Up Lyndon
Santa will arrive at Robsion Park at 5:30PM. Join other Lyndon residents to welcome him and begin the Christmas season!
